The Lifeline, was attacked  by the Libyan coast guard during a rescue operation in the Mediterranean. While the crew provided humanitarian aid in international waters, the Libyan Coast Guard attacked our ship by firing shots and boarding the rescue ship without the consent of the captain.

During this act, the Coast Guard tried to force the crew to hand over the rescued people to take them back to Libya. The Coast Guard had insisted that the Lifeline was operating illegally in the Libyan waters, which was not the case. The crew refused to surrender the rescued people.
