On October 12th, 2018, SMH and Proactiva open arms were patrolling the western mediterranean, near the Alborán island. While doing this, the Open Arms found a wooden boat in distress and proceeded to carry out the rescue.

Once the rescue was carried out and all migrants were safe, the Open Arms went to the port of Motril in Spain.
